OLD TOWN FEELS ✨

Name one city whose old town YOU absolutely loved exploring - or looking forward to explore 😍

This is from Jew Town, in Mattancherry, a neighborhood not far from Fort Kochi. There's an old synagogue, many classic houses and hotels. The street is also lined with little shops and cafes where you can spend long afternoons just wandering about.
So tell us - which is your favorite #oldtown city in the world? 💙

Do you like seeing being statues surrounded by lush green nature?
We do! Because it's almost like although humans have built large versions of themselves in rock, nature has always been around to remind us of how we are but a part of the larger life on this planet! ☘️ #TheBackpacksters in @destination_srilanka #Dambulla #SriLanka 🇱🇰

Which is that one museum/monument that kept you hooked for hours? ♥️ We love outdoors, but sometimes old museums, monuments and heritage buildings get the better of us. Like here: this wooden wall belongs to the Shwenandaw monastery in #Myanmar 🇲🇲 #TheBackpacksters #saturday night 🌏

Have you also been longing to go to the beach? We've been dreaming about this almost every day for a week now. 🏖️ Name a beach that's closest to where you live!

The House On Stilts 🏡

On Inke Lake, there are numerous villages living even today on stilt houses! The lake is 22 kms long and a few kms wide, but quite shallow in most places.
In these #stilthouses, there are many small family run businesses like #cigar making, selling #silverjewelry, #weaving and restaurants too! And the best part? They are all sooo #colorful 🌈

Do you like it when #colours pop? 🤩

This is what we posted a year ago. Who knew we'd see nature make us repent so soon... "Man has made his way into some of the remotest parts of this world, sometimes uninvited. And those 'sometimes' have 'often' turned the planet towards an unpleasant future... Wouldn't you say?" The unpleasant future has already begun to challenge us in terrifying ways! 🌿
